This Privacy Policy describes how SameAct ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the SameAct desktop software application. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

1. Information We Collect

SameAct is primarily a local-network-only application. The software does not collect, transmit, or store personal, operational, or network data on remote or cloud servers. Specifically:

• Live screen views shown in the Monitor feature are shared only between computers on your office or lab network and are never sent to the internet or any outside server.
• Mouse and keyboard automation steps recorded during Action Automation sessions are saved only on your PC and sent only to the connected student/receiver computers on the same network.
• Control Actions (Shutdown, Restart, Volume, etc.) are sent only through your local network.

2. Anonymous Feature Usage Analytics

To continuously optimize our software, resolve performance bottlenecks, and understand which tools provide the most value, we collect anonymous usage statistics and feature analysis data. Specifically:

• We collect environment information (such as whether you operate a school, college, computer institute, or business) to tailor our updates and services to your specific setup.
• We collect metrics on which features are used on a daily basis (such as how frequently action automation, screen monitoring, or software installation tools are launched) and the quantity of managed local devices.
• Offline usage statistics are stored safely on your own computer and are only synchronized when an active internet connection is available.
• This diagnostic data contains no personal information, passwords, screen views, or user data. It is used exclusively to prioritize system updates, optimize performance, and guide future product development.

3. License & Purchase Data

When you purchase a SameAct license, we collect the following information solely to process your order and deliver your license key:

• Name and email address
• Payment information (processed securely by our payment gateway — we do not store card details)
• Device count / license tier selected

This data is used exclusively for order fulfillment, license verification, and support communications.

4. No Cloud Upload of Screen Data

SameAct does not upload any screen recordings, screenshots, live screen views, or user activity to any cloud platform, analytics service, or third-party server. All real-time data flows only within your own office or lab network.

5. Cookies & Tracking

The SameAct desktop application does not use cookies or tracking technologies. This website may use minimal session cookies to maintain the user interface state. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

6. Third-Party Services

Our checkout process may use a third-party payment gateway (such as Razorpay or Stripe). These services have their own privacy policies governing the data you submit during checkout. We encourage you to review them.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard measures to protect the limited personal data we hold (name, email, license key records). All payment data is handled by PCI-DSS compliant processors and is never stored on our servers.

8. Data Retention

Purchase records and license information are retained for a period of 5 years for legal and tax compliance. You may request deletion of your personal data by contacting us at privacy@sameact.com.

9. Children's Privacy

SameAct is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the software constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
